On Saturday, the same day we put a deposit on our flat, our realtor called us to say that a couple who was interested in the house had made an offer. We accepted it and when we got back into town yesterday, our realtor came over and we signed the paperwork. They are wanting to close on the 27th, and we couldn't be more thrilled. Pray that all will continue to go smoothly!
Also, after seeing our new place in Chicago, we realized our King size bed wouldn't fit and neither would our desk, our breakfast table, etc. So, literally the only things we are taking with us, furniture-wise are the couches. I placed almost everything else on Craigslist today and we are hoping to sell it all and buy a few new pieces (i.e. a Queen size bed) before we move.
This is so great! It's cool to see how things are falling in to place for you guys. Who would have ever thought you'd be moving to Chicago? 6 months ago S&S were headed to Denver and yall staying put and now they are in Reno and yall in Chicago -- are you're parents excited or sad to be spread out.

Wow, God's timing! Sweet!
ReplyDeleteI'm laughing at the comment about your king-size bed. We bought ours right before we moved to Chi-town, much to our friends' chagrin who were sure we'd made a mistake -- the truth is that difficulty with the size of the bed never occurred to us -- but we were able to make ours fit.
ReplyDeleteAre you sure yours won't fit? OTOH, the advantage to not bringing much furniture means less trouble settling in!
Shel--your bedroom is much bigger than ours. I actually think our mattress will fit; we just have a platform bed, so there are an extra 3 inches on either side which = too big for the room. I'm wondering if I can find a frame that would work instead. Part of me is actually quite sad at having to sell our bedroom furniture. :(
