New belly shot

Taken tonight, a few days into week 37...less than

3 weeks until bebe M's due date! Of course, she could come any time, but we are hoping she'll arrive sooner than later. A few reflections at this point:

*My appetite has increased more in the last 3 weeks than in the entire pregnancy. I have especially been craving baked goods. Yum!

*Tops are not fitting as well, so note the layering tank. Hands down, it is the single best investment in maternity clothes I have made. It's from Gap Maternity, oh-so-soft-and-comfy, and I recommend all pregnant mothers invest in one (I have worn it every day for 3 weeks; I feel no shame in admitting that; I do laundry). I refuse to buy new clothes at this point.

*Sleep is growing more and more uncomfortable; I wake up at least 5 times each night.

*We had an ultrasound with our new OB last Tuesday and the bebe still looks fantastic. The technician even pointed out several dots on her head and said, "She has some hair!" How cool is that?!

*My urge to nest had grown exponentially; I like the smell of cleaning products. Aron cleared out the baby room and while we wait for the furniture to arrive from California (hopefully, Thanksgiving week), we have the Pack N Play set up, so if she arrives early, she'll have a bed. We are ordering a dresser this week.

*Lastly, Aron says I am more "gooey." This is our word for when one of us is happy, giddy, sappy, cuddley, you name it.

  1. Aron & Susan,

This is Jeff Ellison in Arkadelphia, Ar. I was thinking about you both the other day so i decided to drop yall a line. Come to find out your living in chicago. When i left the plan was back to california. Thats crazy. From your blogs it sounded like yall had moved to calif and then to chicago. Maybe im wrong but man, kudos to you both, that does not sound like much fun. A few weeeks ago i was in chicago for fall break. I drove up and stayed with some firends for 3 days to check out wheaton college. Im thinking seriously about grad school there in a year or two.
I pray for you both with the addition of another to your family. I hope all goes well and is not complicated. Thats awfully exciting. Peace to both of you. I hope you are both doing well.

  3. OH MY GOSH!! How cute are you!!!! Suz, you *are* glowing and beautiful! Seriously, you look so good for being in the home stretch of pregnancy. No fluid retention. Nothing. I simply can't believe you have 3 weeks to go - crazy!! I share in the excitement and anticipation of wondering when Bebe M will arrive (and finding out her name!).
I'm sorry about the sleeping -- it's yucky, I know. People would always say "oh, it's preparing your for those sleepless nights" and while that may be true what you need now more than anything in preparation for that is a good night's sleep! Nature is odd.

    I reconize the pants you're wearing! :)

HI Suzanne and Aron, I started a surprise for Bebe M - but...I'm not sure I can finish it in three weeks, but...I'll try. It is pink!! You look great, and I love reading your BLOG. Joel and Christine are expecting #2 in April. Love,Cherri

  9. A surprise, I love surprises! Whatever it is, I'm sure it'll be lovely; and coming from family, even better! Cherri, I thought you were Beverly this whole time! How hilarious is that? Every time I saw you post on Joel's blog, I thought it was the great-grandma. Well, now it makes much more sense. BTW--Christine looks AMAZING and has no bump at all (despite their last post). What a tiny thing she is! :)

Thanks for reading; it's great to hear from you!

  10. Look at your pretty preggie belly! It's fun to see the changes just since your move. Nesting...restless nights...yep, bebe M will be here so very soon. Maybe in time for Thanksgiving!? How wonderful would that be. A little turkey baby. Ok, maybe that's not too funny. But a happy thanksgiving it would be nontheless, right.

Do you like your new OB?

Oh, and the beanie - well, I did what you said not to do - I started over. The further I got, the sadder it looked. But it's been good practice.

Can you email me your tele & stuff, pls?

  13. SO cute! You look great...all belly. I'm sure that's what everyone tells you. The waking up all night right before you have the baby I think is God's way of preparing you for waking every two hours to feed after bebe is born. :) I was two weeks early! So be ready ! :)

  17. I just love seeing cute pregnant women. Looks like you'll be able to fit right back into your normal clothes right after the delivery! I wish I could knit something more than a scarf. Because babies don't really need scarves :) I'll think of somethin'

  18. SUZZZ! i feel so outta the loop since i have been in cali. for a week, so i am commenting a little late :) it is SO fun seeing your preggo pics...you look fabulous dahhhhling! what would we do without comfy gap maternity clothes? i am with you on that one! ahhh, nesting...the joy of it! can't wait for your furniture to get there so you can get fully situated. i've heard of newborn babies sleeping in drawers, so a pack-n-play is heaven compared to that...he he he. and you just might end up sleeping with that little ladybug in your arms in the beginning...between feeding her and not being able to get enough of staring at your little one! we are so extremely excited for you guys and can't wait to "meet" the little one through your blog! love ya! heth
