summer time

It's been fun and somewhat challening for me to let go of my need to be clean and let my kids run wild in the backyard--playing in the dirt and water, painting--but, this is the stuff of childhood memories, so I say, "Bring it on!" You only live once.

i love my sweet boy!

discovery science center

While Curren and I were in Florida back in May visiting my folks, Maggie soaked up lots of good Daddy time, including her first trip to the Discovery Science Center. She LOVED it!

MIA

I've been MIA for the past 3+ weeks for a variety of reasons and the blog has been sorely neglected, something I hoped wouldn't happen, but alas, has.  My Grandpa passed away on June 9 and we took a last-minute road trip to Oklahoma City with my sister and her family for a week to attend the funeral and be with family.  It was a crazy experience, traveling with 4 children (between the 2 families), 1 very pregnant mama, and 2,600 miles of I-40.  We made some great memories along the way, but it was a tough trip as you can imagine on so many levels.  The next week Aron had business in Chicago so I was flying solo and trying to get back to a normal routine.  And finally, some of my best girlfriends from Dallas came to visit for 6 days and just left on Tuesday.  It's been a whirlwind.  And in between all the crazy busy days, I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that we will have a new baby girl this month (I'm already making progress a few weeks early, hooray!) and we are moving into a new rental home at the end of the month as well.  It's been hard to stay sane at times as well as nurture my children's emotions during this beyond-hectic season of our lives. And believe me, my kiddos have been very emotional lately.  It's been tough to say the least. Looking forward to some time at the beach tomorrow with friends as well as some good family downtime this weekend.
