I've been MIA for the past 3+ weeks for a variety of reasons and the blog has been sorely neglected, something I hoped wouldn't happen, but alas, has.  My Grandpa passed away on June 9 and we took a last-minute road trip to Oklahoma City with my sister and her family for a week to attend the funeral and be with family.  It was a crazy experience, traveling with 4 children (between the 2 families), 1 very pregnant mama, and 2,600 miles of I-40.  We made some great memories along the way, but it was a tough trip as you can imagine on so many levels.  The next week Aron had business in Chicago so I was flying solo and trying to get back to a normal routine.  And finally, some of my best girlfriends from Dallas came to visit for 6 days and just left on Tuesday.  It's been a whirlwind.  And in between all the crazy busy days, I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that we will have a new baby girl this month (I'm already making progress a few weeks early, hooray!) and we are moving into a new rental home at the end of the month as well.  It's been hard to stay sane at times as well as nurture my children's emotions during this beyond-hectic season of our lives. And believe me, my kiddos have been very emotional lately.  It's been tough to say the least. Looking forward to some time at the beach tomorrow with friends as well as some good family downtime this weekend.

  1. i thought i'd give your blog one more check before i complained about it getting old and smelly. you are a lucky girl, no wrath from me, only blog love. come back to us!

  2. Love you friend. You've had a rough couple of months but the light is at the end of the tunnel and we are all so excited and anxiously awaiting Baby Mckay's arrival!! It's going to feel so good to be your sweet little family of 5 in your own little house. I'm so happy for you!
