5 Random Wednesday Questions

I assure you we are still bloggers! Aron is up to at least 11pm-12am each night doing school work and teaching continues to consume all my time. Aron swears he will post soon and since I haven't written in two weeks, I had a thought. Because we are both too busy to write too deeply on our blog at present, I thought I’d leave you all with some silly and perhaps interesting questions to answer (this is borrorwed from a friend's blog...Ashley, if you stop in, let me know :).

1. If you could name yourself something a new name, what would it be and why?
2. What is one thing that continually frustrates you and why?
3. What’s your favourite thing to eat for lunch?
4. How do you know when you’ve made the ‘right’ decision when you come to a decision-making crossroads, so to speak?
5. What’s the first thing you think of when your alarm clock goes off on a Monday?

  1. okay, okay, since you made me feel guilty about not responding sooner...

    1. If you could name yourself something a new name, what would it be and why? - I have no idea -- Wonderwoman, I guess. Partly because it's my maiden name and partly because she's a super hero that kicks ass!!

    2. What is one thing that continually frustrates you and why? - lately, it's my own inability to stop obsessing over trivial things.

    3. What’s your favourite thing to eat for lunch? - right now it's morningstar farms veggie corn dogs -- don't knock em' till you've tried em'.

    4. How do you know when you’ve made the ‘right’ decision when you come to a decision-making crossroads, so to speak?
    - i think intuitively we all know what we should do when we face a decision. i'm also inclined to think like st. augustine: "love God and do as you please."

    5. What’s the first thing you think of when your alarm clock goes off on a Monday? - my baby is my alarm clock now and i'm always guessing how long I can let her fuss (so I can snooze a little) until she starts screaming. :)

  2. I love this idea Suz! Buck actually gave me the first one as an idea for a new segment I'm starting in the paper. (By the way, was your friend's real maiden name "Wonderwoman?")

    1. I have a hard enough time choosing names for my daughters--I don't know what I'd name myself!

    2. Not knowing who is the guilty party--who detached the bedskirts from the girls' beds? Who chewed varnish off of the sides of the bed? Who decided it was a good idea to draw on all the dolls with an ink pen? Who taught my kids to say, "Sister did it!?" :o)

    3. Leftovers!

    4. Unexplainable things fall into place--like God sets random details together just to surprise me!

    5. Ditto for Wonderwoman up above, but times 3 :o)

  3. Jess, in reference to my friend Laurie who posted above: her maiden name was Wunder, and there are all women in the family besides dad, so they are the Wunderwomen, and she would refer to herself as "Wonderwoman" sometimes I think. La, can you add any insight here?! :)

Wait--your kids chew varnish off the bed sides!?!?

  6. Yes, sorry my first response wasn't as clear as I meant it to be -- Wonderwoman does indeed have PART of my maiden name in and it was actually a nickname of mine growing up -- only spelled "Wunderwoman."

  7. joining in the fun here

    1. Ocean star, (my secrety desire to be a hippie i guess)
    2. When i want God to speak to me and then when he does it's not what i want to hear or not when i want to hear it and get ticked at myself and convicted and i feel poopy.... lately anyway
    3. anything that i don't have to make, but i love grilled cheese and my homemade chicken noodle soup, delish.
    4. See LWB, although sometimes i fear that i use St. Aug's quote to justify my own wants. And sometimes i don't know until after the result of the decision. mystery of life?
    5. My alarm clock says "mommy i want my cereal" and activate the snooze button with sayings like "go potty" the second snooze is "go get dressed" and then i finally turn it off by serving the cereal.
