The Wisest Magi

The oft' forgotten, yet no less important, fourth Magi 'Gnomi' (Fontannini got it wrong... who says there were only three wise men!!!) was captured on film this Christmas at the McKay's. The rare photograph displays Gnomi's keen ability to calm the baby Jesus with mad free-style skills and offerings of fresh cut daisies.

Yes, our children will grow up each Christmas saying 'They forgot Gnomi daddy, they forgot Gnomi!' Each year on bent knee, I'll faithfully remind their sad little eyes of one unshakable truth... 'Little Gnomi is in your heart! No one can ever take that away from you... remember that! Gnomi is in your heart...'

  2. One might guess that gnomie was perhaps the 4th wisemen...But then he wouldn't be present at Jesus' birth. Maybe he snuck in with the Little Drummer boy...since we all know he was there.

  3. And who can forget the Donkey of Knowledge?!! He was present in our family nativity set growing up -- you can't forget him either.

  4. Donkey sounds like a poser to me! Was he actually there or did he just show up at your house one day claiming to be OG? Gnomi was there... He doesn't remember no 'donkey of knowledge.' Some poor sap family is getting milked for free room and board and i know it's not mine. If you need help getting rid of your 'problem' Gnomi knows some heavies who specialize in cleaning...

  5. I object! Donkey of Knowledge was indeed there! In fact, he is the one who is responsible for narrating the Christmas Story; he's totally legit. What would Jesus' birth be without him? NOTHING!!!

  6. You would Donkey lover! Thank me for my choice of words... So Donkey of Knowledge (BTW who gave him that moniker? Sounds like a presumptuous self-appointment to me!) narrated to Mark? Or was he just Mark's ghost writer? I know it's hard to admit when you've been duped, especially when you open your family and heart... well i haven't been there but i've heard it's hard. I've also heard the only way we can grow and move past their hurt is to admit it's there. When you're ready i'm listening... this is where the healing begins LA.

  8. hey suz, what do you think about the "controversy" as of late surrounding the author of "a million little pieces?"

  9. I know! It's really a bummer, but I think The Smoking Gun, which has brought some charges against it, is known to be a little over the top at times. However, there is so much in the book that is simply unreal, it really isn't too hard to imagine that he exaggerated some of it. I do think most of it is probably legit, but like Alex Haley's "Roots" I'm sure some of it is embelished for book sales.
