barbeque

On Friday night, my mom's group had a family barbeque. We enjoyed good conversation, good weather, and good food. Aron couldn't be there (he was flying home from business in Dallas), so I missed him getting to know the other dads. This mom's group (pictured below) has been an integral part of my journey into motherhood. I'm grateful for their continued support! Here are a few shots I took.
Kathryn's daughter, Amelia
Julie's daughter, Emma
The girls from L-R: Leslie, Liz, me, Deanna, Julie, Kathryn (not pictured: Beth)

I made homemade mac and cheese (amazing, amazing--courtesy of Heather) and homemade strawberry shortcake.

  1. Great pics - you are getting good with the camera. It's so cool that you have some fellow moms to go through life with, ask advice of, pray for - that is such a gift. The strawberry shortcake looks amazing! I know it didn't turn our quite like you thought, but it looks good to me; very nice presentation

  5. Well, I'm impressed! A baby, a mouse, and you still bake! So glad to see you've found a little group of moms to hang out with--connect as much as you can with one, it seems to get more challenging with each new little pitter patter you add to the family :0)

  7. that is so awesome that you quickly connected with an awesome mom's group, Suz! The best thing i have done since moving here and not knowing anyone is attending a new mom's group at the hospital when owie was born. i was nervous at first because it is so hard for me to meet new people (the non-social butterfly that i am), plus with a new baby in the mix it was even more of a challenge. Stephanie and Alyson and I have been hanging out weekly for nearly 2 years now, and it is wonderful to go through all the new mommy joys/phases/trials together...and the kids are all the same age and becoming wonderful little buddies :) We recently added a new mommy to the mix, Aimee, and i hope it will expand even more in the future! Yay for you Suz!
It looks like you had a ton of fun and the food sounded yummo! great shots of the super-cute kidlets too!
