in training

Maggie has really been into "pig-back" rides lately. While I was cooking dinner on Friday, she kept trying to put her doll on her back. I cleverly tied her blanket around her and she carried the doll around like this for quite some time, thoroughly loving it! Now, when our new baby arrives and I am carring him/her in the sling, Maggie will already be an expert with carrying around her own "baby." :)

  1. That is TOO cute!!! I can tell that she is going to be a great big sister and such a little helper. So fun! I'm hoping for a baby sister. :)

  6. suz, this totally reminded me of when i visited western africa...all the mothers there toted their babies on their backs like this...i had them show me how to do it, because it takes some crazy skill to make sure they are totally secure...but i forget now :(
i love that mags likes to carry her doll like this...and what a wonderful memory it brought back for me...thanks!

  7. yes you can buy or make baby doll slings, wait till she starts to breastfeed her doll! (seriously, my e has sat down next to me w/ her doll and pulled up her shirt and fed her baby the natural way!)

  8. How cute! I thought the same thing as Heather--it reminded me of the Africa women with their babies. I will have to pass along this idea to Abby for Gabrielle. ;)
