feeling crafty

I have updated my links on the side and included several crafty sites I have been into lately. I do consider my self crafty, though it can come in waves, depending on what is going on in life. I love Etsy. If you haven't even visited the site, you must! It's a place to buy and sell all things handmade. I went on to get inspired for Maggie's room--I plan to do vintage birds. I found some amazing things, including these *fantastic* blocks from Susanna Anna (see link). Patti saw them and said, "We can make those!" and we did! She, Rachel, Renee, and I got together a couple of weeks ago and made our own. Theirs turned out beautifully and mine still need a few details, so I won't post them just yet. But, suffice it to say that when it was all said and done, we each made 9 blocks for under $20!

Enjoy some of the crafy sites both on Etsy and the others that I have listed. Maybe it will inspire you, too! :)

  2. By the way - I love all the links! Like some of the clothes from "Tea". However, a little pricey for me, but very cute. Especially like that they have a "Shannon" line! :)

  3. shey, i knew you'd like some of those sites! yes, you are a crafty friend of mine! i've bought Tea stuff about $10 cheaper at a store here and Maggie wears it as both a dress and when it gets too short, a shirt, so I feel it pulls double-duty. i didn't see the "shannon" line...where am I missing it?

  4. Cannot wait to see your blocks!! Maybe I should hire you to do some for me since I am not crafty at all. Still marveling over the cards you sent for my b-day - I hope you get lots of opportunities to enjoy this hobby of yours in the future!

  6. I'm so, so, so bad about starting crafts and never finishing them... and didn't we discuss the other morning the whole "man, I know I could do that and make a bunch of money" disease?

I'm off to browse your Etsy faves.

  8. You MUST be crafty if you recreated those Suzanna Anna blocks. I read her description of how she creates them.... too many steps for me! :)
