kentucky waterfall

I've been in denial for a few weeks now, but I've come around to the fact that Maggie has a little baby mullet (focus on the back, here). I need to get it cut. I usually put her hair in one rubber band with a clip on top because, as you can see, it's getting very long there, too.

What should I do? I think I just need to go to a baby-friendly salon and get a trim.

PS: The second shot is a shout-out to Tam. Here, we see Mags proudly showing off her nose. :)

  1. Here's my HUGE suggestion...don't cut her hair yourself!! I repeat, unless you are a trained professional..it will not turn out the way you want!! Trust me...from experience.
I've been shelling out the $$ for one of the baby salon places. The boys seem to like First Cuts (ours is in the mall), but any place that caters to children is quick and they are very used to wiggly and sometimes screaming kiddos. The only drawback...they can get pricey but most offer a punch card (which in my case fills quickly).

  2. Trim up her bangs, but just deal with the back while it grows out. The worst thing you could do to a girl is give her a boy haircut (do you hear the bitterness?) :)

  3. Suz, Zoe has a baby mullet too! LOL! But, I wouldn't cut it! Trust me!!!!!! Heeee. It's just awkward, and it will grow out VERY soon! Zoe's is the same, though! It's just now beginning the evening out stages. Just my opinion. We cut Angelina's hair too short when she was a baby. I totally regretted it. ;)

  4. Cut it!! It will look good being cleaned up a bit. I took E to a Wal-Mart in AL -- who knew they even had salons - but if that's not an option, then go to a child friendly place. You saw my jig-jagged cut of E's first cut.

Sweet Mags, pointing at her nose! So grown up!

  5. hey there is something about business in the front and party in the back!

if you really want to get it cut we have a great place and g never minds but he does tend to move quickly so in my attempt to trim it up well, it was bad!!

  8. Did the title of this post "kentucky waterfall" come from those mullet magnets that we have on our fridge? Or is that really a mullet term? ;)
