American Idol

I haven't had much chatter for this show in a few weeks, though we are faithfullly watching it. I'm just more and more convinced that Blake is the next American Idol; I've been a huge fan of his from the beginning, esp. since he is probably the standout with having the most unique sound/style. His rendition of Bon Jovi's "You Give Love a Bad Name" this week blew everyone else out of the water. I loved his own creative flair he added to it (Mel, did you watch? The song is a throw-back to RC days and made me think of you:)). I must admit, that even though Phil got the boot this week, he really had stepped up his game the past 3 weeks, finding a niche in country and even sounding pretty rockin' with his Bon Jovi song. I was so anxious to see who was going to get the second boot this week, Blake or Chris. And how FANTASTIC was their exchange on stage?! They both said they were "best friends" and "whatever happens, so be it--we'll be touring together anyway." I especially loved, loved it when Chris said, "I'll leave right now for him." Their humility was so evident, it actually gave me chills. Heth, I'm hoping for some Blake input! I know you love him, too. He's the one to beat!

  3. I also really like Blake, but don't think that he will be the next American Idol... as nice as that would be!! :) I think that it will be Jordin.... although, I did not like her song this week AT ALL. :) In fact, I am not a fan of any of the girls that are left... but not many of the people this year had too much talent in my opinion. I guess we will soon find out!! There are only 4 left!!!

  5. Oh, and Suz, I would love to see your input on the latest blog post... :) Anyone can answer this question! It's more to get everyone's likes and *not* likes. :)

  6. suz here:

My picks, in order of dismissal:

    4. Lakisha
    3. Jordin
    2. Melinda
    1. Blake

Melinda's professionalism has been leaps and bounds ahead of the rest, BUT I do feel Blake is showing he can handle, so we shall see.

  7. Aron here - My Picks (in order of dismissal)

    4. Jordin
    3. Lakisha
    2. Blake
    1. Melinda

I would like to see Blake win as I think we would offer some artistic input into the direction of his career, but I just don't think it will happen.

If I'm right Suz owes me twenty bucks... get ready to pay up sister; your reckoning is coming!!!

  8. ok suz, if i weren't married, lemme tell you...i would have thee biggest crush on blake, he he he. i think he has the whole package...not only does he rock the mic with his singing and beat-box abilities, he also has the look, an awesome (seemingly sweet/sincere) personality, and onstage charisma. i would love to see someone "different" become the next idol, unfortunately, i don't think blake will make it. i agree with aron, i think melinda will win it with blake as runner-up. (although i hope you are right ;)no matter what happens, i will SO buy blake's album...he adds so much talent and interest to this competition...otherwise i would be a bit bored by it all i think. i don't think anyone else could pull off the cure, 311, keane and jamiroquai!

  9. I hope you're not disappointed when Blake get's kicked off. I would love for him to win, but I think it might be a Daughtery thing, you know a blessing if he gets kicked off and isn't subject to the restricitons that come with actually winning....He'll have a career regargless and he's my favorite too but I'm not getting my hopes up. I think it'll be Jordan or Melinda and honestly my vote would be Jordan becasue I think she'd actually do a cool pop album where I think Melinda would be like Fantasia and do some weird R&B stuff.....

  10. Okay, loved Gina and nearly cried when she was vote off. She just had that Joan Jett attitude that I loved. My vote is for Blake. All the other girls are so much the same to me. Blake brings something different. Although I think Melinda will win with her saccharine sweetheart goodness garbage that drives me crazy. It bugs me when she says "Oh thank you. You think I was good? Oh thank you." Makes me want to smack her. UGH! Go Blake!

  12. Tam!! I was so wondering when you were going to weigh in. Glad to hear that you like Blake; he rocks. I think Melinda is very sweet and not fake. :)

  13. Apparently Blake didn't "rock" very well with the Bee Gee's last night.

Do you think they'll get to the end of the show and decide that no one deserves to win?

  14. I know, Pops, he didn't do his best, but I'm still holding out for him to win. Someone always deserves to win; we are all winners. Right?

  15. We always hope for winners, but sometimes we get weiners instead of winners.
